Halfsies takes about two minutes. You get three objects, one cut each, and then the day is finished. There is no second run, no energy bar to wait on, nothing to grind.
People ask why we do not let them keep playing. The answer is that a game which ends is a promise and a game which never ends is a job.
The set is identical worldwide, seeded from the date. That is what makes the score worth arguing about. If you and a friend get different objects, comparing numbers is meaningless. If you get the same torch and the same lantern, the gap between 218 and 244 is a fact about the two of you.
Cutting a rectangle in half is easy. Cutting a six-shooter in half by weight is not, because the mass is nowhere near where the shape suggests. A brass scale weighs both halves and reads out in grams. Most people are out by a third and are certain they were close.
